Under Support at Home, client statements just got more complex

Support at Home program changes everything for aged care client monthly statements. Match mandatory requirements and streamline statements with VIPS Care.

Why are client statements under Support at Home so complicated… and how do you get them right?

Support at Home isn’t just a new program……it’s a whole new way of thinking about client budgets, reporting, and transparency.

If your statements feel harder than Home Care Packages ever did… you’re not imagining it.

Client statements under Support at Home : providers need to show-

  • Multiple budget accounts
  • Different funding sources
  • Separate rules for each pot of money

All of this needs to appear clearly on the client statement —without confusing clients, families or auditors.

Clarity is no longer “nice to have”. It’s essential.

Quarterly funding needs smart budget tools:

Unspent quarterly ongoing care funds roll over – 10% of that budget or $1000 whichever is more but only on Day 61 of the next quarter.

(You need another account for trailing invoices to drain for up to 60 days.)

Client statements must show:

It all has to be accurate and easy to follow – without the reader needing an accounting degree.

(The Department of Health Ageing and Disability’s eleven-page template still doesn’t include unspent ongoing quarterly care funds.)

Managing unspent Home Care Package funds is simple with VIPS Care

These funds:

  • Can be used for care only once the quarterly budget has been expended
  • Can pay for approved AT-HM
  • Require clear tracking
  • Need to be shown transparently as they are gradually expended

Mixing old HCP balances with new Support at Home budgets is where statements can unravel fast if systems aren’t up to it.

Remember – unlike unspent HCP funds in the old system, unspent Support at Home Ongoing quarterly care funds CANNOT be used for Assistive Technology and/or Home Modifications. Under Support at Home, your client will need a separate AT-HM budget for anything on the AT-HM List, if they don’t have any unspent funds from the old Home Care Packages Program.

VIPS Care Technology simplifies Support at Home statements by-

  • Managing multiple budget accounts
  • Applying rollover rules correctly
  • Tracking legacy HCP funds alongside Support at Home budgets
  • Producing clear, compliant client statements

Our provider clients have been sending client statements since Support at Home commenced – with statements also visible to clients and/or their family members on the VIPS Care Client Portal.

Support at Home has changed the rules — especially when it comes to client statements.

If your team is juggling multiple budgets, rollover rules and unspent HCP funds, your legacy systems may never manage.

At VIPS Care, we’ve designed our software specifically for this new complexity. (PS…we might sound new but we’ve been doing this work for over 20 years)
